You’ll notice two blue boxes at the end of each post. The first one, with a border around it and just before the comments, allows you to share posts with your friends. The second one, just after the comments, provides quick and easy navigation to the previous and next posts.
As part of my effort to be green, anything in a blue box will not print when you commit the post to paper.
And for those on dial-up (like me) or otherwise limited bandwidth, the front page loads only short excerpts without images, so that it loads faster and you can more quickly get to what you want to read.

I have now created my own WordPress child theme (based on Azul by SwitchRoyale), so I can change things as much as I want without losing any of the functionality of the original theme. If you noticed some weird things happening today, that was me.

I’ve also added a “Send this page to a friend” link at the bottom of each page, so if you see something you like, you can e-mail a brief excerpt of the page, along with a link to the page, to up to five different friends. A great advantage of this is that if you are working at the office, you can send the link to yourself at home and vice versa.
Both this link and the TweetMeme button are in the blue box at the end of each post, just before the comments.

I’ve installed a TweetMeme button on each page, so if you twitter, you can tweet my posts if (because) you like them.
22 July 2010:
I updated to WordPress 3.0 today. So far, no problems. This seems to be an incredibly stable release of the WordPress software.
Also, I have optimized these pages for printing. Now, when you print, the “Search” boxes, as well as everything on the sidebar, won’t print. In some preliminary tests, I found that it took anywhere from 40% to 50% sheets of paper to print. So now, I’m even more green, even on your end.
However, if you think the print size is too small, please let me know.
